Summer has arrived here and so have the start of Belly's summer classes. We enrolled her in a tumbling class at the local rec center and once a week she will be working on basic gymnastics and tumbling skills. She had her 1st class yesterday and she had a blast. She is in a class of about eight 4-5 year old little girls so needless to say, the teachers have their work cut out for them.
I snapped a few pictures at her class yesterday so take a peek below. And hey, as a side note, we see that we are getting some visitors still (at least I'm not just writing for me to read.. sigh....), please leave us a comment once in a while so we don't think you forgot about us. Hope to hear from you soon!

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day Greg!!
Belly and I thank you for being a great father. Always our protector, you also make us laugh, teach us useless trivia, check the weather for us, and cook us tasty food. What would we do without you?!
Here's to all the fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and godfathers in our lives. Hope you had a great day, we were thinking of all of you.

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again. ~Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

June already?!
Um, has anyone else noticed that the year is almost 50% over?!?!?! I can distinctly remember that when I was younger, elementary school age or so, that the year dragged on and on. It seemed that it would never be my birthday, it would never be Halloween or Thanksgiving or Christmas. Oddly though, summer vacation seemed to fly by fast enough. I once read in an article that the reason time seems to speed up as you are older is because of body temperature. I have no idea if this is actually true or not but the researcher (and I use the term loosely since I have no idea if it was a theory or something someone actually studied or not) said children's bodies are cooler in temperature than an adults and that the cooler temperature tricks your mind into thinking that time is moving more slowly. As you age, apparently your body heats up a degree or so and thus time flies. Honestly, now that I write that out, I really think its a crock of sh%#. Did someone get paid to think of that? I need that job.
For Portlanders June means the annual Rose Festival. This year is a big deal since its the 100th celebration. In the few years we have lived here we haven't actually made it to the festival. This year we decided we would take Belly out and have a nice day. The festival is pretty cool, they have 3 parades; navy ships come in and have "fleet week"; there is a waterfront festival with entertainment, rides, and a carnival; and they have a huge fireworks display. This year in addition to the naval fleet and other boats that dock in, they have a tall ships display with a pirate ship from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
We headed over today to check out the rides and fairway, hopefully this weekend we will go back and take a tour of the navy ships and maybe if we are lucky, get a chance to go on the pirate ship. It is times like this that I love the city.
What else is new.... hmmm... not much. Work for me has sped up to the usual summer variety. Hot weather invariably makes people want to commit crimes of all types. No air conditioner in the house? Sounds like a great time for a liquor store robbery! Bartender cut you off because you have been at the bar 12 straight hours? Sounds like an invitation to drive home drunk and then maybe have a fist fight with your neighbor. Neighbors having a large party and won't be quiet? Easy solution!-- armed threats.
Chipotle is busy for Greg. People are hungry, they demand their food. They demand service. Employees demand attention and so Greg has to head to work.
Belly is loving the beginnings of summer. We are actually working on planting a little garden with her in the yard and she has been spending lots of time playing outside. The warmer weather has been great. It is supposed to rain a few more days up here but after that I think our rainy days will get less and less.
Thats all from us for now. I am definitely trying to keep up with more news from our front. Tina if you are reading this,,, get well soon! We are glad you are on the road to recovery! xoxo
Here are a few pictures from today. :o)
Pirate ship docked in the Willamette River in Portland. I think it's this one that was used in the Pirates of Caribbean movie.
