Children are a gift...

especially when they enjoy housework! We hope she feels this excited about doing dishes in about 10 years.

So happy to help out! 9/7/08

The first week of kindergarten is down and Belly loved it. She is settling into a nice little routine each day and figuring out the ropes. She has discovered a love of recess (she's our kid so this is a no brainer! ha) and is excited about learning new things. So far she's met lots of new kids, though she doesn't remember any names yet.

This week they are hard at work studying their letters, M and S, as well as learning how to use capital and lower case letters when writing their names. On the home front, she is working hard at mastering how to tie her shoes and last week she started guitar lessons. She has had an interest in music for a long time and so we are trying it out and seeing how it goes.

Not much else going on here. No check ups for #4 until early next month so we wait for updates. For now though, things are going well, he is starting to kick around a lot more reminding us he is going to be moving in to our house soon. :o)

More summer review

This summer managed to keep us fairly busy between work schedules and vacations. Summer is always nice for a reprieve from all the rain and clouds but this year it was fairly hot here, with temps hovering new 100 or more for several days at a time. With no A/C, life can be a little miserable. Fortunately, even with fall still officially a few weeks away, the soaring temps are finally a little more in line with normal and once again we can enjoy the outdoors without sweating after 10 seconds.

Besides our grand tour of Oregon, we took a trip north to Seattle to catch a game and see some sights and also took a trip to the Oregon Coast. Waaaaaaaaaay back in the beginning of July, we celebrated the 4th at PGE Park and took in a minor league ball game. Here are just a few more pics from our summer.

My first day of school!!

After waiting for five long years, the time has come for the commencement of Belly's education. Today was the first of many, many days of school for our little one. We know the day will come when she will complain about homework or having to wake up early, but for now, our little kindergartner was raring to go!

We are so excited (and a little bit in shock in how quick time really does fly). Yay for Belly!!

The night before Kindergarten...

posing with mom on the night before school. 9/1/08.

A hearty breakfast on the morn' of school. (don't be alarmed- the 7-up cup is filled with milk-- we promise!)

Nope- she's not excited about getting ready for school.

The obligatory, brushing your teeth before your 1st day of school photo.

She's never this happy to get her hair brushed.

Showing off her NEW school clothes! (what's with the sash wearing dinosaur in the background? Probably of the rare homosaurus variety as opposed to the heterosaurus species.)

Packing up the backpack with all the supplies.

Ready to head out the door!

"Come on! Lets go!!!"

Starting a new chapter. 09/02/08

"It's my 1st day of school!!"

"Ok- you guys can go now, I'm busy!"

First day is over and she still wants to go back, success!

After a long hard day, time to snuggle in and go to sleep.
