Getting ready for the holidays!
A friend recently posted this on her page and I decided to play along. With Christmas fast approaching (and Thanksgiving just a few days away!), here are some random facts...
Tis the Season to be NICE!
1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? A nice mix of both
2.Real tree or Artificial? Always, always the real thing. What's not fun about going to find the perfect tree? Oh yeah-- and then there is the smell of pine, ahhhhhhh.....
3.When do you put up the tree? Normally, we like to buy the tree on our anniversary, 12/4.
4.When do you take the tree down? It used to be Jan 6th, but now once its dry it has to go and we leave our smaller artificial tree up til the 6th.
5.Do you like eggnog? No. Yuck.
6.Favorite gift received as a child? A family to adopt me? I was gift of the year in 1977, received 12/23/77. Hmmm.. besides that, maybe money. I always liked getting money (some things never change).
7.Hardest person to buy for? Hands down- Gregs mom. I think everyone can agree on that.
8.Easiest person to buy for? Belly
9.Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, but no room for it so its never displayed. One day we will have a bigger place with space for all of our Christmas decorations.
10.Mail or email Christmas cards? MAIL (who the heck sends Christmas emails?)
11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Herpes!! Just kidding.
12.Favorite Christmas Movie? Christmas Vacation and Elf.
13.When do you start shopping for Christmas? Until last year, we always started our shopping about 2 or 3 days before Christmas. Last year, we actually gave ourselves almost a whole month to get it done. Amazing!
14.Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Who hasn't. Honestly.
15.Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Christmas cookies, candies, and warm foods.
16.Lights on the tree? Always! The more, the merrier.
17.Favorite Christmas song? O' Holy Night and Carol of the Bells
18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? This has never been a choice as long as I can remember-- we always, always travel to someone's house (near or far).
19.Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? DASHER, DANCER, PRANCER, VIXEN, COMET, CUPID, DONNER, BLITZEN & RUDOLPH...
20.Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel
21.Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Both
22.Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Other shoppers
23.Favorite ornament theme or color? Memories (an ornament from each year)
24.Favorite for Christmas dinner? Lamb shish kabob and mezza with our family in Dinuba. ahh!
25.What do you want for Christmas this year? Healthy, happy children/family/life (and a delivery date for #4 of 12/31/08 or sooner!)

Finally! A visitor...
We don't get many but enjoy them when we do!
Chris has returned from his trip to the desert (yay!) and he came up for a two week visit 11/6-19th. It was nice. We miss him and wish he would move to Portland. Mind you-- not with us, just up here, in his own place. Imagine the possibilities Chris... Beaver tickets; basketball games; spending time with your insanely cute neice (and nephew soon); your baby brother; your fantastic sister in law; new place to live; less cost of living than Santa Maria; Oregon lottery tickets/casinos; no sales tax; unlimited number of adult shops (haha). The possibilities are endless.
Belly missed her uncle and was sooooooooo glad for the time with him. We didn't accomplish much while he was here but it was nice to spend time together. The next visitors are slated to arrive sometime in early 2009 after #4 makes his debut. Wahoo!
Here are a few pics of us on the 19th as we dropped him off at the airport to go back home. Oh yeah-- and see how we enticed him to consider staying? IKEA meatballs. yummmmmmmmm!

What a pan-cre-ASS!!

Number 4 is due to arrive soon and is thankfully developing into a healthy baby. Yay!
As was the case with Belly, this pregnancy gets the label of high risk due to my lame ass pancreas not producing enough insulin to keep me diabetic free. Whatever! Fortunately, I have access to great healthcare and my doctor (along with a team of nurses now) is keeping close tabs on me through the remainder.
So for now I settle for daily injections, glucose testing, fetal non stress testing, and more doctor appointments than a hypochrondriac could ever dream for. On the bright side, I get two ultrasounds a week to see our boy progressing and keep close tabs on his size. We probably won't get anymore prints of the baby from the sonogram but if I do, I'll be sure to post.
Hopefully he will arrive sometime during the last week of December (tax break?!) but if not, the doc has decided sometime the 1st week of January sounds like a nice time to be born. Any guesses on when the little guy will arrive??
Since he has to bake for a little longer, prayers are being accepted on his/our behalf for a healthy baby and safe (and speedy) delivery. :)
some pictures to enjoy
A little late but here are some shots from Halloween. Belly decided this year to be a butterfly fairy. It's become somewhat of a tradition now for us to assemble a costume from home for Belly and this year was/is no different. We took Belly to the local mall and then headed over to Bryan and Julie's house on the East Side for a bit so that she could trick or treat with Billie. It was a fun night!
